Ruah Edelstein
Animation Director, ARTIST, Script Writer
Striving to be recognized, is the essence of the disorder, the end of an artist. All awards aside, what is left is the mark on a canvas, a film frame with light and darkness. Everything breathing and I, as part of the whole, show up every day to record, to document, to assist its emergence into the realm of physical forms. I was born at this time and I need to express this time. This is the deal. Outside of my world at Lumen Animae Studios, I am on the faculty of California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).

Masha Vasilkovsky
Experimental & Traditional Animation Artist
I step back while inviting the force that created me to lead the process. Creating original art direction, I combine animation materials differently for each show. Each project feels like an assignment from the greater U. Eventually the vision for it comes to me in one piece. I don’t have to doubt as I trust my ambidextrous hands to transform the flow into image. My understanding is that everything that comes into existence a priori has social impact. Then comes the responsibility of an artist – to maintain the idea of constructive transformation through art. FULL BIO
