Ashe '68 is a direct technique sand animation VR documentary. The viewer is right there, immersed in Arthur Ashe’s historic, transformative day. You are with Arthur Ashe as he becomes a tennis champion and a champion for social justice on the world stage. The animation was commissioned by Custom Reality Services. It is the first time that a direct technique sand animation was used in Virtual Reality filmmaking. The film was premiered at the U.S. Open in 2018, then shown at Sundance 2019 New Frontiers.
